NSPCC

Childhood shapes who we become. Abuse never should.

The NSPCC is the leading children's charity in the UK, fighting to end child abuse and neglect in every community. They help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find new ways of preventing abuse from happening in the first place.

By investing in innovative services and solutions that no one else does, the NSPCC has pioneered ways of working that combine practice, policy and research to deliver the most effective programmes. Through their direct services, collaboration with schools, local campaigns and by working in partnership with other organisations, they support thousands of vulnerable children and families every year.

They push the government to change the law to keep children safe, and they visit thousands of primary schools across the country, empowering millions of children with the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect.

They also run Childline – the free 24-hour helpline and online chat service – giving children and young people a safe and confidential space to talk about their concerns, be listened to, and ask for advice and support. Each year, they deliver counselling sessions to around a quarter of a million children about everything from sexual abuse to mental health problems.
