Place2Be delivers mental health services to children in 282 primary and secondary schools across England, Scotland and Wales, providing a lifeline for children facing challenges such as bereavement, bullying, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.
By intervening early they help children to find a way forward so their problems don’t grow with them. Their support helps to build children’s confidence and resilience, improving their wellbeing and ability to engage more successfully at school. Place2Be also trains school staff and counsellors to build the capacity of communities to effectively support children’s mental health.
“It helps get rid of worries. When somebody or something makes me sad, I can come here and get it off my mind” - nine year old boy supported by Place2Be.
Funding from the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery will enable Place2Be to develop their vital work in schools to reach over 22,500 children across England, Scotland and Wales each year. This will result in more happy and healthy school communities where children are given the best chance to reach their potential.
